YCUBE
Charity housing in SW London
Location: London, UK
Project type: RESIDENTIAL
Client: Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners
The YMCA has created a development of self-contained apartments to provide affordable homes for young people who are unable to pay high rents or get onto the property ladder.
The open grass area, picnic tables and BBQ space in the courtyard create opportunities for informal gathering as well as a place for residents to relax. A hidden, disused, and empty open space has been transferred into a safe green space where residents can socialise, rediscover nature and heal.
