Barnet
Optical illusions in a challenging space
Location: London, UK
Project Type: Private Garden
Client: Private clien
The client brief was to improve the neglected rear and front gardens of this property and create an entertaining space with BBQ facilities for informal gatherings.
Our scope of works included creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing space while improving the views from the house. We used two focal points and other techniques to trick the eye into believing the space is much larger than it is. A larger circle in the foreground and a smaller circle in the background emphasize the perspective, convincing the viewer the garden is larger and deeper. A new planting scheme will create year-round interest with perennials and shrubs.
